The Power of Social Media

Over 75% of consumers use social media whether for business or personal use. These numbers alone are enough to justify you having a social presence.

It doesn’t have to be anything fancy or complicated, start slow and work your way up. Here are 4 simple ways to get you started.

  1. Create a FaceBook Profile. Facebook launched in 2004 and is one of the most popular sites in the world. To get started, all it takes is creating a profile. Once your profile is created, you can post updates and receive feedback from your customers or clients. The more relevant information you post, the more people will follow you and this will result in an increase in revenue.
  2. Start a blog.  A blog is a great way to show yourself as an expert in your industry. Credibility equals more business. A blog can easily be created using user-friendly programs like WordPress and Blogspot. The goal is to create high quality, informative content that will help your readers. This information can be product tutorials, product reviews, industry specific tips and other relevant news.
  3. Become a Tweeter. Twitter is another great tool for small business owners. It works very similar to FaceBook.
  4. Videos. Online videos are a great way to get the word out about your company. You can provide information similar to what’s on your blog but instead of writing, create a video. This is the closest thing to a t.v. commercial minus the cost of course. Videos also get top priority on search engines. Your videos can be streamed using sites like YouTube, Vimeo, etc.

Remember to start slow and do your research. If you’re going to jump into the world of social media be prepared and professional because once it’s out there, there’s no taking it back. If you implement these social media elements into your current marketing strategy, you will be amazed at the results.
